Tornikatu
Avarrus is designing a wooden CLT-frame apartment building in Hanko, south coast of Finland. The three-storey building, located in the centre of Hanko, has 10 apartments ranging in size from two room flats to large and spacious family apartments. While the building accommodates to the size and shape of the surrounding buildings, it is an eye-catching and modern addition to the townscape. The living spaces in all apartments have great views and balconies or terraces opening towards southwest and southeast, the direction of the town centre and seaside. Wood is used both as the material of the building frame as well as in the furnishings and details of the apartments, inspired by Hanko's maritime location.
