Vision for Siuntio Town Center

We created a vision for the Siuntio town center to support the area’s zoning plan. In the vision, the town center is a small-scale, dense, low-rise, and green hub for services and housing. The structure of the area resembles a small town, and the architecture draws inspiration from Siuntio’s historical buildings.

In the vision, services and commercial spaces are located along Siuntiontie. A new community center serving all residents is situated at the edge of the square. It acts as a venue for events and an extension of the school campus, providing a place where, for example, young people can gather while waiting for the bus.

The town square is centrally located among commercial and municipal services, enabling various events to take place at the heart of the municipality. The square continues the pedestrian routes from the school campus, creating a smooth connection to the bus stop north of the community center, as well as to residential blocks and the train station.

The residential blocks are compact, low-rise, and lush. The buildings are 2 to 4 stories high with pitched roofs, creating a small-scale and varied environment. Detached houses and rowhouses are grouped into small blocks that balance privacy with the benefits of shared ownership models.
