Sauna N

Sauna N is a courtyard sauna in Helsinki built for a private customer. The building contains a living room, a kitchen, a loft, a sauna with washing facilities and a covered terrace. Functionality, genuine materials and interesting details were the basic idea of the design and the client's wishes. In addition, it was also important to take into account the new building's relationship with its surroundings and possible expansion in the future. The interiors of the massive slatted log-framed building, reduced to its basic form, open onto the terrace and yard through the kneeling outer wall. The building has a CLT-constructed loft for overnight guests.
CLT elements have also been used as a partition structure. Natural materials have been used in detailing and finishes in a rich, atmospheric and elegant way.
